Letters to the Editor

Letter writing is something everyone can do. With a little time and thoughtful consideration about why you and I should protect farmland you can help save our farmland from unnecessary and irreversible destruction.

For a letter to the editor — you can start from scratch.  Or, you can respond to an article you have read in the newspaper on the issue of protecting farmland.  There are links below to 2 published pieces.  Samples of other letters are available from the media room.

Sample Letter to the Editor about 380 acres in Greenwich

Sample Opinion Piece about the Kings County Council

Letters to the Kings County Advertiser or the Berwick Register are both submitted to:

Sara Keddy, Editor: editor@kingscountyregister.ca

Letters to the Chronicle Herald are submitted to:

Bev Dauphinee, Editor: letters@herald.ca

It’s a good idea to identify yourself by providing both your mailing address and phone number. The editor may wish to contact you before publishing to verify you did submit the letter.

One letter, with a few changes, can serve more than one purpose. With a few adjustments a letter to the editor can be sent to politicians and vice versa.  Email addresses for key politicians can be found on this website’s Email/Phone page.

So put pen to paper — or fingers to keyboard — good luck!
